Alternate Solution to the End of WWII
An alternate solution to the unannounced bombings could have been to tell Japan that they were going to drop a bomb if they didn’t surrender. To persuade the Japanese to surrender, they could have explained the effects the bombing would have had on Japan, short term and long term. If they didn’t surrender then they could actually drop the bombs, because then the United States could say they warned them. If the United States would have warned Japan they may have surrendered right then and there. If the Japanese would have surrendered after the U.S. warned them, then the United States wouldn't have had to spend money on the planes, bombs and other goods required for the bombings. This would have also saved many more Axis power and Allied lives. In the end, the best thing that the United States could have done was warn the Japanese by actually coming out and telling them they were going to get atom bombed.
